FETÖ connection in the Furkan Foundation investigation where the Kuytul couple and 35 others were arrested

Within the scope of the investigation into the Furkan Foundation, 35 suspects, including Alparslan Kuytul and his wife Semra Kuytul, have been arrested. The investigation also identified links between 9 of the organization's managers and 24 individuals who had previously faced legal proceedings in connection with FETÖ.

A new development has occurred regarding the 62 suspects detained in an operation targeting the Furkan Foundation across 6 provinces, centered in Adana.

35 suspects, including the Foundation's Founding President Alparslan Kuytul and his wife Semra Kuytul, have been arrested.

In the operation carried out by the Adana Police Department's Anti-Terrorism Branch teams on Wednesday, August 19, simultaneous raids were conducted on 49 addresses in 6 provinces. During the operation, a search was also conducted at Kuytul's home, and 56 people, including himself and his wife Semra Kuytul, were detained.

As the investigation continued, the number of suspects in custody rose to 62. Following a two-day detention period, arrest warrants were issued for 35 suspects, while judicial control measures were applied to 18 suspects.

Following the decision, Kuytul's supporters gathered in front of the prison.

FETÖ CONNECTION BEING INVESTIGATED

As part of the investigation into the group known publicly as the “Kuytulcular,” the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office also examined the connections of the organization's high-level managers.

According to information obtained from prosecution sources, 24 different individuals who had previously faced legal proceedings in connection with FETÖ were identified in the connections of 9 of the organization's leaders.

It was determined that these 9 individuals held roles within the organization in areas such as internet, social media, technical team, magazines, education, accounting, and general management.

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating the nature of these identified connections and whether they constitute an organizational link.

MISSING COMPUTER TOWERS FOUND DURING OPERATION

It was determined that some hard drives had been smuggled away during the operation as part of the investigation.

It was determined that while computer monitors were present at some addresses, the computer towers were missing. As a result of the work carried out by the teams, all of the missing computer towers were found and seized.

WHAT CHARGES ARE THE SUSPECTS FACING?

In the investigation conducted by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, CİMER applications, reports, complainant and witness statements, past investigation and prosecution files, financial analyses, bank account movements, trade registry records, and digital materials related to the organization were examined.

The charges brought against the suspects as part of the investigation are as follows:

  • Establishing and managing an organization for the purpose of committing crimes
  • Being a member of the established organization
  • Laundering assets derived from crime
  • Qualified fraud
  • Forgery of official documents
  • Opposition to the Tax Procedure Law
