The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Bureau has been conducting an investigation into the current student structure of the FETÖ/PDY armed terrorist organization. It was determined that the organization placed students who came to Istanbul from different provinces for university or whose families lived in Istanbul into houses rented by students or civilians who had no record of being members of the organization.

Furthermore, it was determined that, under the instructions of an organization official located abroad, the furniture for these houses was provided, rents were paid, financial needs were met, and the organizational activities within these houses were supervised.

THEY HANDED OVER CHILDREN TO THE ORGANIZATION OFFICIAL

On the other hand, it was also determined that, in addition to university students, students in high school and primary school were subjected to conversations in the homes of individuals who had previously undergone FETÖ investigations, as part of organizational programs organized by members of the organization. It was found that events were held to increase the loyalty of these students to the organization members overseeing them, and that families handed over their young children to the organization houses or organization officials designated for these events.

An Istanbul-based operation was launched against a total of 40 suspects identified as having carried out these actions. As a result of the operation, 38 suspects were apprehended and taken into custody.

It was learned that efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects are ongoing.
