FETÖ operation in Ankara: Suspects found in duplex apartment

Operations against FETÖ by the Ankara Police Department's Organized Crime Investigation Bureau continue unabated. In this context, Ö.K. and S.K., who were wanted for the crimes of membership in and managing a FETÖ organization, were taken into custody in an operation.

DETERMINED TO HAVE USED BYLOCK

Investigations by the teams revealed that Ö.K. and S.K. used the encrypted communication program Bylock and possessed numerous bank and digital accounts.

It was learned that both suspects had been sought for a long time and had constantly changed their addresses and disguises to avoid capture.

THEIR NAMES APPEAR IN STATEMENTS OF THOSE BENEFITING FROM EFFECTIVE REMORSE

It was determined that S.K. served as the "Kırklareli provincial sister" between 2011 and 2017, worked in companies affiliated with FETÖ, and recruited numerous members for the organization. It was established that S.K.'s name frequently appeared in the statements of individuals who had previously benefited from effective remorse provisions.

It was learned that Ö.K. was dismissed while working as an academic at Kırklareli University, and during this period, he served as the "Kırklareli university supervisor," responsible for faculty members and academics at the university. It was reported that Ö.K., who used the codename "Erkan," was named in the statements of numerous organization members who benefited from effective remorse.

LIVED WITHOUT REGISTRATION

As a result of the teams' surveillance, it was determined that Ö.K. and S.K. were living on the top floor of a duplex apartment in Ankara's Altındağ district. It was discovered that the suspects had built a separate door to the upper floor of the apartment to avoid detection and were living there without registration. Ö.K. and S.K., who were caught as a result of the operation by the Organized Crime Investigation Bureau teams, were referred to judicial authorities following their processing at the police station.
