FETÖ members attack CNN Türk reporter during live broadcast

CNN Türk US Representative Yunus Paksoy was attacked by FETÖ members while reporting live in front of the residence of FETÖ ringleader Fetullah Gülen in Pennsylvania.

During the live broadcast, an organization member drove a car toward him, then stepped out of the vehicle and physically assaulted Paksoy.

"WE WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT AGAINST TERRORISTS"

Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun stated on his social media account following the incident, "I convey my sincerest get-well wishes to CNN Türk and Hürriyet US Representative Yunus Paksoy, who was attacked by a FETÖ member while performing his journalistic duties.

As I stated to Mr. Paksoy during our conversation following the despicable attack he was subjected to, no one should doubt that our relevant authorities will follow up on this matter and that we will take every necessary step before US authorities to ensure that those involved in this cowardly attack receive the punishment they deserve.

We will continue to fight against terrorists who are enemies of Turkey, no matter where they are in the world. We owe a debt of gratitude to truth-seeking journalists for supporting this struggle,” he said.

CONDEMNATION FROM THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack on Yunus Paksoy while he was reporting on FETÖ in the United States (USA).

In the statement made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, it was stated, “We condemn the attack on CNN Türk TV channel's US Representative Mr. Yunus Paksoy during his broadcast regarding the Fetullahist Terrorist Organization (FETÖ).

Necessary initiatives are being taken before US authorities to ensure that the individuals who carried out and incited this attack are held accountable before the law,” the statement read.
