Feyyaz Yiğit cast his vote for Ekrem İmamoğlu in the primary

Famous actor Feyyaz Yiğit, star of the popular recent series Gibi, went to the polls for the arrested Ekrem İmamoğlu. The CHP noted that more than 11 million citizens participated in the primary election.

IMM Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was arrested after being detained as part of two separate investigations launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Citizens who shared messages of support for the arrested İmamoğlu and went to the primary election ballot boxes expressed their reactions to the decision.

In addition to the public, artists also expressed their support for İmamoğlu. Famous actor Feyyaz Yiğit went to the polls in the primary and cast his vote.

RECORD PARTICIPATION IN THE PRIMARY

Voting has ended in the primary election organized by the CHP to determine its presidential candidate. The ballot boxes were closed at the designated time. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel stated in his announcement, 'There was 10 times more interest in the public solidarity ballot boxes than in the member ballot boxes.' Özel also called on citizens to gather in Saraçhane. It was stated that there was high participation in the CHP's primary. It was reported that as of March 23, more than 11 million people had gone to the polls.

İmamoğlu was detained in an operation conducted at his home on March 19. On March 23, he was arrested as part of a financial crimes investigation. Citizens cast their votes for İmamoğlu, who was the sole candidate in the CHP's primary.

The CHP set up a total of 11,920 ballot boxes in 81 provinces and 973 districts for the primary. Of these ballot boxes, 5,960 were allocated for party members, and the other 5,960 were set aside as solidarity ballot boxes for citizens who are not party members.

In his statement after casting his vote in Saraçhane, Özel announced that more than 11 million people had voted. It was reported that as of 15:30 on March 23, the number of participants exceeded 11 million, reaching a record level.

Following the closing of the ballot boxes, the vote counting process began. It has not yet been clarified when the primary election results will be announced. CHP officials said that the counting process is being carried out meticulously.
