Field hospitals set off for Gaza
Three container-style field hospitals, equipped with medical supplies and devices, have departed from Samsun to be delivered to Palestine.

As part of the ongoing health aid efforts conducted by the Ministry of Health for Gaza, a 'field hospital' and medical aid supplies from the inventory of the Samsun Provincial Health Directorate's UMKE (National Medical Rescue Team) have been dispatched from Samsun to serve Palestinian citizens at a location determined by the Ministry of Health.
The field hospitals will reach Palestine by passing through the Rafah Border Crossing between Gaza and Egypt. The containers house almost all the equipment found in a hospital.
''WE ARE READY FOR ANY TASK''
Providing information about the health aid sent and the work carried out, Provincial Health Director Specialist Dr. Mustafa Uras stated, “Unfortunately, a humanitarian tragedy is unfolding in Gaza. Our brothers and sisters, who are struggling to survive under bombardment, are facing even more difficult days as health resources diminish with each passing day. Within the scope of the peace and aid efforts led by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, health aid work for Gaza continues under the coordination of our Ministry of Health. As part of these aid efforts, and upon the instructions of our Ministry, we are dispatching our 'field hospital' from the Samsun Provincial Health Directorate UMKE inventory, along with the necessary medical supplies and equipment, to be delivered to the region via vehicles provided by our Ministry and the Metropolitan Municipality. As Samsun UMKE, we have taken part in various disasters and military operation zones in past years with our 290 volunteers, regardless of how challenging the conditions were, and we have stood by those in need of help. At this point, I would like to state that we, along with all our healthcare workers within the Samsun Provincial Health Directorate, always stand with our brothers and sisters in Palestine and are ready for any task that may be assigned by our Ministry of Health in this regard.”
The 50-bed capacity field hospital includes an emergency service unit, a laboratory and imaging unit, an operating room where surgical procedures can be performed, first aid rooms, intensive care units, a maternity unit, X-ray devices, and various medical supplies.
