The allegations raised by a Central Bank employee named Büşra Bozkurt regarding Hafize Gaye Erkan and her father Erol Erkan continue to remain on the agenda.

In the complaint petition she wrote to CİMER, Bozkurt claimed that she was dismissed by Erol Erkan and alleged that an office and an official vehicle were allocated to Erol Erkan at the Central Bank.

Bozkurt's allegations were not limited to these, as she also claimed that Erol Erkan slapped a bank employee.

"THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM IS HER FATHER" CLAIM

While the allegations against Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB) Governor Hafize Gaye Erkan continue unabated, journalist Seyhan Avşar shared insider information she obtained regarding the Central Bank.

In a post on her X (Twitter) account, Avşar wrote: "According to the information we have received, the cause of the problems is seen as her father rather than Hafize Gaye Erkan. The parties we spoke to suggest that the problem stems from the behavior of Erkan's father."

FIGURES CLOSE TO ERDOĞAN AND ŞİMŞEK SPEAK OUT

Reporting on her meetings with figures close to AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek, Avşar claimed that Hafize Gaye Erkan might leave her post of her own volition.

Avşar wrote that a high-level official who knows Erdoğan and the Erkan family closely said: "It is impossible for our President to remain indifferent to this incident. We need to come together with Mehmet Şimşek and hold a meeting regarding the matter. The allegations raised must, of course, be investigated."

Stating that if the allegations are not true, the reason why they were raised should also be investigated, the figure close to Erdoğan continued as follows;

“Hafize Hanım is not someone who comes from within the bureaucracy. Because she lived in America, some of her relaxed behaviors might seem contrary to us.

However, she is a person who has undertaken very important duties, worked in large companies, and has not experienced any problems. Think about it, her closest friendships are with the president of the World Bank and such. If there were a problem with Hafize Hanım's profession, these people would not meet with her.”

‘I WILL START TO BELIEVE IN FEMINIST ARGUMENTS’

“Furthermore, if there is a smear campaign or an attempt to wear her down, our President would not want Hafize Hanım to suffer victimization. Moreover, we attach great importance to the representation of women. As I said, if there is an attempt to wear her down, I will start to believe in those feminist arguments. Like, ‘Is the male-dominated society trying to brake the rise of women?’ No step will be taken without thorough investigation.”

Avşar conveyed her meeting with a figure close to Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek as follows;

“A figure close to Minister of Treasury and Finance Mehmet Şimşek said the following in summary:

‘The problem is not with Hafize Hanım. She is a very hardworking person who is focused on her job. However, her father has made some mistakes. Since Hafize Hanım is an only child, she may not be able to resist her father's decisions. These allegations are, of course, being investigated. Mr. Şimşek is also very saddened by these allegations.’”

“SHE MAY WANT TO LEAVE HER POST OF HER OWN VOLITION”

“According to the information we have received, Erkan is expected to return to her post today,” said Avşar, adding: “In the first stage, a serious warning will be given to Erkan. Suggestions will be made for her not to bring her child and family to the workplace. In the face of this warning, Erkan may want to leave this post of her own volition. If Erkan does not resign herself, since those who say 'It is not right to change horses in midstream' are in the majority behind the scenes, a possible change might be expected after the elections.”
