WHO IS FİKRET ÖZTÜRK?
Fikret Öztürk was born in 1949 in the Nizip district of Gaziantep. After completing his primary education in his hometown, he attended a boarding teacher training school.
Completing his education at the Istanbul Çapa Higher Teacher Training School, Öztürk began his professional life as a Physics teacher. He served in schools such as the Gaziantep Education Institute, İslahiye High School, and Mersin Tevfik Sırrı Gür High School. However, he was forced to take a break from his teaching duties during the September 12, 1980 coup, and he never returned to the profession he had been away from for two years. He resigned from teaching in 1982 and turned to a different career path.
Starting his business life by working as a tractor dealer with his uncle Mehmet Öztürk, Fikret Öztürk entered the petroleum distribution and mineral oil sector in 1982 by founding Öztürkler Petrol Limited Company. The company achieved successful growth in a short time.
In 1992, he founded Opet Petrolcülük AŞ, one of Turkey's leading domestic fuel distribution companies. Opet strengthened its position in the sector by increasing its growth momentum thanks to the partnership it established with Koç Holding in 2002.
