Fines rained down on those entering forests and lighting fires
As part of the efforts carried out by the Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Command between June 1 and July 28, 2025, to prevent forest fires, a total of 261,893 TL in administrative fines was imposed on 101 individuals. Additionally, judicial proceedings were initiated against 6 people for causing forest fires.

With the start of the fire season, gendarmerie teams intensified their inspections to protect forests, issuing fines to a total of 101 people: 206,710 TL to 70 individuals for entering restricted forest areas, 44,295 TL to 15 individuals for lighting barbecues in prohibited areas, 35,436 TL to 12 individuals for burning dry grass for cleaning purposes, and 11,812 TL to 4 individuals for burning stubble. On the other hand, judicial proceedings were initiated against 5 people for causing a forest fire by negligence and against 1 person for the crime of intentionally setting fire to a forest.
An effective aerial inspection process is also being carried out in the fight against forest fires. In this context, between June 1 and July 24, flights lasting a total of 60 hours and 40 minutes were conducted with UAVs over 28 days.
The Aydın Provincial Gendarmerie Command announced that inspections from the air and on the ground will continue uninterrupted with Public Order Commando Teams, the Environmental, Nature and Animal Protection Team, and other units, and urged citizens to show sensitivity regarding not lighting fires.
