Fire alarm at school causes panic
A fire alarm that went off at a primary school in the Gebze district of Kocaeli caused fear among local residents. While emergency teams were notified due to fears of a fire, it was determined that the alarm had been triggered by an electrical issue.

The incident occurred at a primary school located on 1063 Street in the Arapçeşme neighborhood of Gebze district. Local residents who heard the alarm sound at the school notified the 112 Emergency Call Center out of fear of a fire. Upon the report, police and numerous fire crews were dispatched to the scene.
The fire crews, who arrived at the scene in a short time, noticed that the school door was locked and there was no smoke. Since the school doors were locked, the situation was reported to the attendant. The doors were opened with a key upon the arrival of the attendant.
In their inspection of the school, the fire crews did not find any evidence of a fire. It was determined that the alarm system had been triggered due to an electrical problem.
An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
