Fire alarm in three Aegean provinces: Teams intervene by air and land in Manisa, İzmir, and Muğla

Teams are continuing their aerial and ground interventions against fires that broke out in Akhisar, Manisa; Karşıyaka, İzmir; and Marmaris, Muğla.

Fires have broken out at three different locations in the Aegean Region. Teams have been put on alert in the districts of Akhisar in Manisa, Karşıyaka in İzmir, and Marmaris in Muğla. Aerial and ground interventions against the fires have been initiated.

A fire broke out for an as-yet undetermined reason in a forested area near Yeğenoba Neighborhood in the Akhisar district of Manisa. Upon notification, teams from the İzmir Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region.

The fire in Akhisar is being fought with 2 aircraft, 5 helicopters, 22 water tenders, 3 water supply vehicles, and 3 bulldozers. Manisa Metropolitan Municipality fire department teams are also supporting the extinguishing efforts.

In the Karşıyaka district of İzmir, a fire broke out in a grassy area on 7549 Street in the Örnekköy Neighborhood. Due to the fire growing rapidly under the influence of the wind and its proximity to residential areas, fire crews were directed to the region.

SPREAD TO FORESTED AREA

Teams are continuing their efforts to prevent the flames from reaching surrounding residential areas and to bring the fire under control.

The fire in the Marmaris district of Muğla began in the Yalancıboğaz area. It was reported that the fire, which started at a point on the coast inaccessible by land, has spread to a forested area.

Following the report, air and ground teams affiliated with the Muğla Regional Directorate of Forestry were dispatched to the region. Efforts to bring the fire under control in the area, where access is difficult, are ongoing.
