Fire in Aydın reaches Muğla: One neighborhood being evacuated

The fire, which started yesterday in the Bozdoğan district of Aydın and grew rapidly to reach the Kavaklıdere district of Muğla, continues to threaten surrounding residential areas.

Due to the fire that started in the Bozdoğan district of Aydın and reached the Kavaklıdere district of Muğla, the Yeşilbağcılar neighborhood of Kavaklıdere is being partially evacuated.

As the fire approached residential areas, AFAD and Gendarmerie teams began evacuation efforts to ensure the safety of the elderly, children, women, and animals in particular.

The fire, which is growing under the influence of strong winds, poses a serious threat to citizens in the region. Teams are continuing evacuation operations and ensuring that citizens are transported to safe areas.

In order to prevent the fire from spreading, firebreaks are being created with heavy machinery, and the flames are being fought from both the air and the ground. The anxious wait in the region continues.

Lütfü Yazar, who was affected by the forest fire that broke out in the Bozdoğan district of Aydın and whose land was damaged, said, "I have not seen anything like this in 65 years. There is no green space left in our village; everything has burned. We barely saved our own lives and property."
