A fire that broke out in the basement of Esenyurt Necmi Kadıoğlu State Hospital was brought under control in a short time by fire crews. As a result of cables in an electrical panel catching fire, the hospital's entrance road was closed to traffic and some patients were evacuated. Surgeries scheduled for the day were postponed due to the fire, but it was reported that there were no serious injuries.

FIRE BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL IN A SHORT TIME

Police teams, who took security measures in the surrounding area, closed the entrance direction of 19 Mayıs Boulevard to the hospital to traffic. Fire crews brought the fire under control in a short time. While some patients were evacuated, it was reported that surgeries scheduled for the day were postponed.

Murat Özgüneş, a patient's relative who was evacuated from the building, said that the fire broke out while they were waiting in the hospital's surgical department. Özgüneş said, "A fire started from a cable in the section downstairs where the delivery room and operating room are located. At first, there was a little smoke, but the smoke started to intensify significantly. Our surgery was canceled as a precaution."

Stating that some patients were also evacuated from the operating room, Özgüneş said, "They kept them waiting for a while as a precaution. As far as I know, there is no one who was seriously affected by the fire, meaning there is no such serious situation."
