Fire safety project prepared for Haydarpaşa Station

Minister of Transport Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that a fire detection and suppression project, approved by the fire department, has been prepared to protect the historic Haydarpaşa Station from fire. It was stated that train services will resume following the restoration.

Minister of Transport Abdulkadir Uraloğlu responded to a written parliamentary question submitted by CHP Istanbul MP Fethi Açıkel regarding the restoration work at Haydarpaşa Station, located on the Kadıköy waterfront.

Providing information about the restoration work, Uraloğlu stated the following:

"The work carried out on the Haydarpaşa station building and the building numbered 5 includes the restoration of the roof, attic, two towers, and the waiting hall, as well as repairs to exterior stone, stained glass, wooden windows, and shutters, along with structural reinforcement and facade lighting. No additions or modifications other than these have been made. Furthermore, necessary project studies have been conducted regarding areas requiring reinforcement in the ongoing restoration work at the Haydarpaşa station building and its outbuildings. Ground reinforcement work has been completed in the building numbered 5."

"TRAIN SERVICES WILL RESUME AFTER THE COMPLETION OF THE RESTORATION"

Minister Uraloğlu stated that a fire detection and suppression project approved by the fire department has been prepared to protect the building from fire, adding, "Field implementation work for the fire suppression and detection systems is ongoing."

Uraloğlu announced that train services will resume once the restoration is complete and the station is opened for traffic operations.
