The university board of directors is responsible for assisting the rector; management boards do not have the authority to take such a decision. This decision is invalid; the clear provisions of administrative law are evident. The faculty board of directors handled this diploma and lateral transfer, and they are the ones who take such decisions!
The news that the diploma has been cancelled is false! The university board of directors wrote and announced such a text despite having no authority to do so.

CHP Deputy Chairman Gül Çiftçi stated regarding the primary elections following the decision: "We will set up our ballot boxes on Sunday, March 23. We will hold our primary election."
Çiftçi said the following regarding the decision on the diploma cancellation:
Unfortunately, we also saw this as breaking news; this is a violation of rights and a violation of law. The university administration does not have the authority to take such a decision. It is the faculty that approves lateral transfers. This decision is null and void for us. No matter what they do, we see that there is no law or justice left in the country.
The country's most deep-rooted university has been instrumentalized. The faculty said it could not make this unjust decision, and unfortunately, the university administration surrendered to them.
The Council of State's decisions on this matter are clear; the decision must be made by the faculty. And the rights of Mr. İmamoğlu and his classmates are being violated. The votes for the Republican People's Party and İmamoğlu are increasing.
Because Mr. Erdoğan does not want to see İmamoğlu as a rival, he is trying to defeat him through the judiciary since he could not defeat him at the ballot box. This electorate has common sense. Mr. İmamoğlu will enter the election we will hold this weekend, and we will continue on our path.
The early election ballot box will come before the citizens; this decision is null and void, we do not accept it.
