First comment from the Palace on the terrorist organization PKK's so-called congress! 'There will be difficult periods from time to time'

In the new opening process initiated by MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli, which the government calls a 'Terror-Free Turkey,' the terrorist organization PKK held its so-called congress following the call for disarmament and dissolution by terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Akif Çağatay Kılıç, Chief Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy and Security, made evaluations regarding the terrorist organization PKK's so-called congress.

As reported by Sözcü, Kılıç spoke on a TV program he attended, saying, "We have put forward a determined struggle against terrorism. I remember with mercy all our security forces who were martyred here and our citizens who lost their lives. Of course, this struggle is a difficult one."

Kılıç used the following expressions:

"At the same time, we have gone through and are going through a process that affects the peace of our country and many issues in the region.

But what is important here is the great point we have reached with the determined stance we have always put forward regarding the end of terrorism, as the People's Alliance, our President, Mr. Devlet Bahçeli, the AK Party, the MHP, and other parties that make up the People's Alliance.

Of course, we see a process that is still ongoing, we are all watching. Some statements and some meetings held are already issues reflected in the public eye. But what is important here is, first of all, the laying down of arms. There should be no action taken with weapons in any way. The process that our President named with the goal of a Terror-Free Turkey must proceed correctly. Of course, there will be difficult periods from time to time here.

But what every society, the world, our neighbors, and especially our citizens expect is, of course, to live in a Turkey where there is no terrorist threat and where there is security. Of course, one of the most fundamental elements of this is a determined fight against terrorism, which we have already demonstrated. A determined and patient process is being managed.

The point we have reached right now is that the congress has convened and the decision will be announced soon. Let this not be misunderstood. Opposition figures sometimes ask questions like 'What was given, is there a concession involved?' There is neither a concession nor a bargain."
