First day of the budget marathon in the Turkish Grand National Assembly concludes

The first day of deliberations on the 2025 Central Government Budget Law Proposal and the 2023 Final Account Law Proposal has been completed in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM). Following the discussions, the motion to proceed to the articles of the proposal was accepted.

Deliberations have begun in the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) regarding the 2025 Central Government Budget Law Proposal and the 2023 Central Government Final Account Law Proposal.

While the discussions held on the entirety of the proposal were completed during the first day's sessions, the General Assembly accepted the motion to proceed to the articles of the law proposal.

On the first day of the sessions, government officials and members of parliament shared their assessments regarding the budget proposal. While ruling party officials argued that the budget was prepared in line with the country's economic growth targets, opposition parties drew attention to the economic crisis and rising cost of living.

Speaker of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Numan Kurtulmuş adjourned the session to continue deliberations today at 11:00 AM.
