The statements made by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli at his party's group meeting, following his handshake with DEM Party deputies in recent weeks and his call to the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan, have dropped like a bombshell on the agenda.
Speaking about his call to the terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan, Bahçeli said, "I am also addressing those who say, 'Nothing will come of this if the terrorist leader is not involved.' If the isolation of the terrorist leader is lifted, let him come and speak at the DEM Party group meeting in the TBMM!"
Reactions from politicians to Bahçeli's call for the "terrorist leader to come and speak in the TBMM" were not delayed.
Republican People's Party (CHP) Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir made statements regarding the matter.
Speaking to Sözcü TV, Emir said, "Devlet Bahçeli has requested amnesty for Abdullah Öcalan."
