Following the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's request for permission to investigate Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş and his private office, the first reactions have come from the CHP front.

CHP Group Deputy Chair Ali Mahir Başarır and fellow Group Deputy Chair Murat Emir made notable statements following the news of the requested investigation permission against Yavaş.

Stating that they learned about the investigation permission request from media outlets close to the government, Başarır expressed his reaction with the following words:

"We learned it from the pro-government media again…

The Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has requested permission from the Ministry of Interior to investigate Mansur Yavaş regarding the concert investigation.

This permission, requested on the grounds of misconduct, is not legal; it is blatantly political.

We stand fully behind Mansur Yavaş, who has stood by students, retirees, and the needy until today.

Are you aware that you are trying to open an investigation into the conscience of the people of Ankara!

Let those who fear you be like you!"

Following the request for investigation permission against ABB Mayor Yavaş, another CHP Group Deputy Chair, Murat Emir, also reacted to this decision on his social media account.

Emir expressed his reaction with the following words:

"We stand with our ABB Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who returns Ankara's revenue to the people of Ankara and has brought our capital out of its era of stagnation; we stand fully behind him.

If you are looking for a place to hold someone accountable, you are at the wrong door. That door is the door of those who sold Ankara off parcel by parcel."

CHP Deputy Chairman in charge of Local Governments Gökhan Zeybek also reacted to the investigation permission requested for Mansur Yavaş. In a statement made via his social media account, Zeybek included the following expressions:

Mansur Yavaş is the PAID water bill that a retiree says, 'Thank God it wasn't cut off today too.'

It is the medicine that someone who reaches for their wallet at the pharmacy and then turns back, quietly receives.

It is the closed-out credit ledger of the needy person who swallows their shame at the neighborhood grocer.

THE NATION knows very well who works honestly and who fills their own pockets. DO NOT WORRY AT ALL. It sees, it knows, it is taking note.

Not a single investigation is opened against those who sold Ankara off parcel by parcel for years. The button is being pressed in a hurry for a purely POLITICAL investigation.
