First response from Kılıçdaroğlu's camp to Özgür Özel's '2 million members' call: 'The roadmap is clear'

A response has come from Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu's camp regarding the proposal voiced by Özgür Özel at his İzmir rally that "the Chairman should be elected by 2 million CHP members." Former CHP deputy Müslim Sarı, who visited Kılıçdaroğlu at his home, said, "They had closed the doors to dialogue. I see what comes after this as political polemics."

Following the court's "absolute nullity" ruling, the next steps for Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who has returned to the CHP Chairman's seat, and his team continue to take shape. Former Istanbul Deputy Müslim Sarı appeared before the cameras following his visit to Kılıçdaroğlu and made striking statements regarding Özgür Özel's election call in İzmir and the status of the party's authorized bodies.

"THEY HAD CLOSED THEIR DOORS TO PROPOSALS FOR A CONVENTION"

Implying that they do not find Özgür Özel's push for a general chairman election with the participation of all members sincere, Müslim Sarı used the following expressions:

"If Mr. Özgür wants to consult the organization, you know, two days ago we came to the front of the Headquarters together with our deputy friends, Party Assembly members, and High Disciplinary Board members. Even though our Chairman said, 'Let's hold an extraordinary convention, the most reasonable one, at the right time,' and even though we came to discuss 'How can this convention happen, what can we do, what could our roadmap be?', they had closed all doors to dialogue. I see what comes after this as political polemics. The roadmap is clear, what needs to be done is clear, and we will proceed within this framework."

"THE PARTY ASSEMBLY IS SET, THE COURT HAS RECORDED IT"

Touching upon the administrative steps the Kılıçdaroğlu administration will take, Sarı shared the following information regarding the formation processes of the new Party Assembly (PM) and the Central Executive Board (MYK):

"The Party Assembly is already set, meaning the list is set. The positions of the friends who will come are clear; that had already been shared with the election boards, and the court has already recorded it. Therefore, our friends are also clear. Only the date will be determined, and on that day, the Party Assembly will be held, and the party's authorized bodies will begin to work. On the same day, the High Disciplinary Board will also hold its first meeting. The formation of the MYK is at the discretion of our Chairman; we will wait for that."

Holiday celebration will be held with the public on Saturday

Müslim Sarı stated that the preparations carried out within the Headquarters for the Eid al-Adha continue uninterrupted, adding that the widely attended holiday celebration program will be held on Saturday in accordance with the previously updated calendar.
