Businessman Aziz İhsan Aktaş, who was released under the scope of 'effective remorse' after being arrested in investigations launched into CHP-run municipalities, and whose house arrest was lifted last week, spoke to journalist Nuray Başaran on TYT Türk.

In the promotional video for the interview, which was reportedly conducted in Aktaş's home office, the following remarks by Aktaş were included:

"I am here. I am in Istanbul. I will be here tomorrow. I will be here on the day of the trial. I will be here after the trial as well. I am very curious about how they will look their friends in the face.

I was arrested as part of the corruption investigation launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the municipalities. I gave my statements to assist my state. Naturally, there will be those who are uncomfortable with this. Far from fleeing my country, I am impatiently waiting for the hearings to begin. I wonder, will the deputies and deputy chairmen stay in Turkey, or will they flee?"

SEEN AT ÇAĞLAYAN COURTHOUSE

On the other hand, according to a report by Sözcü TV reporter Muratcan Altıntoprak, it was stated that Aktaş was seen at the Istanbul Çağlayan Courthouse.

It was observed that Aktaş, who remained on the prosecutor's floor for approximately 1 hour, had lawyers with him carrying a large, yellow-colored file.

Aktaş was taken out of the courthouse under police escort, using a different elevator used by prosecutors.

No official statement has been made yet regarding whether Aktaş provided testimony.
