First statement from detained İlyas Yalçıntaş: 'The precision scale was for calorie tracking'

Famous singer İlyas Yalçıntaş, who was detained as part of a major drug operation conducted in Istanbul, responded to the allegations against him via his social media account. Emphasizing that no illegal substances were found in his home, Yalçıntaş explained that the "precision scale" detail, which caused a stir in the press, was an ordinary, legal household appliance he used in the kitchen for nutrition and calorie tracking.

Stating that the legal process is ongoing, the famous artist expressed his full confidence in the judiciary.

"NO ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES WERE FOUND IN MY HOME"

Making a written statement to inform the public following the news of his detention, İlyas Yalçıntaş clarified the searches conducted at his home and the allegations reflected in the press with the following words:

"I was detained today as part of an investigation in which my name is mentioned. Since the legal process is ongoing, it would not be appropriate for me to make a detailed statement. First of all, I must state that, contrary to some reports, no illegal substances were found in my home. The 'precision scale' mentioned in the news is a completely legal and ordinary kitchen scale that I use for calorie and nutrition tracking, which was sitting openly on the kitchen counter."

Stating that he hopes the process will be conducted with transparency, Yalçıntaş said, "I have full confidence in the judicial process. I believe that the truth will emerge as soon as possible, and I expect common sense and understanding from the public until the process is concluded."

WHAT HAPPENED? A MASSIVE OPERATION INVOLVING 25 PEOPLE

The button was pressed in an investigation conducted by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which includes suspicions of facilitating drug use, providing premises for drug use, and drug use:

The Chief Public Prosecutor's Office announced that evidence had been reached raising reasonable suspicion that the suspects, including artists, actors, business people, and operators, had prepared the ground for drug use or had used drugs themselves.

The Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams were instructed to carry out detention, search, seizure, and biological examination procedures for 25 suspects, including İlyas Yalçıntaş.

The detained suspects are expected to be referred to the Bakırköy Courthouse to have their statements taken following their procedures at the gendarmerie.
