First statement from Sedat Peker after his lawyer takes on the Minguzzi case! 'I see myself as a child of the state...'

Sedat Peker made a statement after his lawyer, Ersan Barkın, took on the case of Ahmet Minguzzi. Peker stated that he sees himself as a 'child of the state.'

Following the tragic death of 15-year-old Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, Sedat Peker reached out through his lawyer, Ersan Barkın, to support the family. Barkın has become the new lawyer for the case by taking on the legal representation of the Minguzzi family.

Following this development, the first statement came from Sedat Peker.


Peker used the following expressions in his statement:

“The most important thing that will cause a society to collapse is for people to collectively view a segment of the public (Turks, Kurds, Arabs, etc.) as guilty due to crimes committed by certain individuals.

I see with regret that a significant portion of our country is making this mistake. If this mistake is persisted in, it will serve no purpose other than 'carrying water to the mill of the social chaos that some forces want to create in Turkey.' In Kurdish, the word 'keko' means brother.

Do not carry water to the mill of those who want to sow discord among the people of our country. There are two types of people: first, the good person, and second, the bad person. Do not say bad things by referring to people's ethnic identity. The harm this will cause our country in the future will be very great.

When the news appeared in the media that my esteemed lawyer Ersan Barkın had taken on the legal representation of the family of our brother Ahmet Minguzzi, who was brutally murdered when he was only 14 years old, I saw upsetting posts such as, 'Sedat Peker did what the state could not do.'

I want to state this clearly: I am the child of my mother and father. However, before that, I see myself as a CHILD OF THE STATE, I accept it, and I believe in it with all my heart.

You want to make me say things by provoking people. You know that as a result, the people who love me will also harm them.

Do you have nothing else to do? Don't you see that you might cause very terrible events just so you can have a pleasant time on social media? Don't do it. Go find yourselves other entertainment. Do not play with people's lives and blood.”
