First statement from Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin
Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin, who was detained in the 5th wave of operations targeting municipalities, has made her first statement on her social media account.

The 5th wave of operations has arrived as part of the investigations conducted into municipalities. Detention warrants were issued for 47 people, including the mayors of Avcılar, Büyükçekmece, and Gaziosmanpaşa, as well as former CHP MP Aykut Erdoğdu.
Among those detained are Büyükçekmece Mayor Hasan Akgün, Avcılar Mayor Utku Caner Çankaya, Gaziosmanpaşa Mayor Hakan Bahçetepe, Ceyhan Mayor Kadir Aydar, Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin, Beşiktaş Deputy Mayors Ozan İş and Alican Abacı, Avcılar Deputy Mayors Erhan Daka and Mehmet Mandacı, and Büyükçekmece Deputy Mayors Rıza Can Özdemir and Ömer Kazancı.
MESSAGE OF DETERMINATION FROM THE SEYHAN MAYOR
Seyhan Mayor Oya Tekin made her first statement on her social media account after being detained.
Stating, "Dear residents of Seyhan, as you know, I was detained this morning in an unlawful manner," Tekin included the following expressions in her post:
"Throughout my life, I have never bowed down to anyone or any difficulty. Today, as always, my head is held high, my forehead is clear, and my conscience is clean.
Because we pledged to walk this path for justice and for the truth. We worked for Seyhan every moment, we did not take what was not ours, and we protected the rights of the people.
We will not give up on our beliefs or our struggle. We will continue to walk this path with determination, honor, and shoulder to shoulder.
We will succeed with solidarity, hope, and unity."
