Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek met with the family of investigative journalist Uğur Mumcu, who lost his life in a bomb attack in front of his home in Ankara on January 24, 1993.
Uğur Mumcu's wife, Şükran Güldal Mumcu, and his son, Özgür Mumcu, attended the meeting held at the Ministry of Justice.
It was stated that the meeting evaluated the current status of the file regarding the Uğur Mumcu assassination and new efforts being conducted within the scope of the case.
STATEMENT FROM GÜLDAL MUMCU
Uğur Mumcu's wife, Güldal Mumcu, spoke to Halk TV regarding the meeting. Güldal Mumcu stated, "We conveyed our demand that the perpetrators and those who incited them be uncovered, regardless of who they are. The Minister of Justice said, 'We will do our best to ensure that whoever is behind it, and whatever their connections may be, they are brought to light.'"
Mumcu said the following:
