Flash flood hits Samsun's Havza: Statement from the Governor
Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı announced that there were no casualties or injuries in the flash flood that occurred in the Havza district, but that there was significant damage to businesses.

Governor Orhan Tavlı, who conducted inspections in the flood-affected area in Havza district, stated that many businesses and vehicles were damaged as a result of the Hacı Osman Creek overflowing in the town center, saying, "I convey my best wishes to the business owners and our citizens. So far, we have no loss of life. We have not received any reports of injuries either. However, there is significant damage to businesses.
Cleanup and damage assessment efforts are ongoing in the field. Teams from the Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, SASKİ, AFAD, the State Hydraulic Works, and the Havza Municipality are continuing their work in the region.
Our law enforcement officers have taken the necessary security measures. All teams, including our health units, are working in coordination.
Cleanup efforts are continuing without interruption. Hopefully, we will heal the wounds as soon as possible," he said.
Citizens describe the disaster
Tradespeople's vehicles and businesses suffered major damage in the flood. Bahadır Kaya, one of the citizens who experienced the disaster, said, "We have never seen anything like this before. We were caught off guard and became stranded. The rain poured down suddenly. Excavators came and rescued us. All the shops were damaged. Havza is currently paralyzed," he said.
Bayram Şenses stated, "Everything was damaged. The water level was almost going to exceed our height. It dragged the vehicles away," he said.
