New details have emerged regarding the death of journalist Hakan Tosun, who was beaten to death in the Esenyurt district of Istanbul. Despite more than a month having passed since the incident, questions regarding the motive for the murder and the perpetrators remain unanswered.
Tosun's sister, Öznur Tosun, reacted to the judicial process, stating, "We asked what happened to Hakan on October 10, and we learned on October 11 that he was in the hospital. We saw that he had been beaten and hospitalized on the night of October 10. Now we are asking, 'Why did you kill Hakan Tosun?' We are not receiving answers to any of these questions."
“JUDICIARY REMAINED INDIFFERENT” REACTION
The family expressed concern over the slow progress of the judicial process and the silence surrounding the murder. Öznur Tosun said, "The fact that gangs on the streets can kill people in cold blood and then just walk away makes us think. How safe are we? How sure are we that others won't be killed like Hakan from now on? This silence will burn us all."
The Tosun family has called for justice to be served and for the incident to be clarified in all its aspects.
“BLACK-MASKED” SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS
According to reports by journalists Zeynep Kuray and Yadigar Aygün, striking posts were found on the social media accounts of suspect Yusuf Özakdağ, who was taken in for questioning as a "witness" by the Esenyurt Mevlana Police Station and subsequently released.
In posts made on Özakdağ's profile using hashtags such as "#infaztimi" (execution squad), "#karamaskeliler" (black-masked ones), and "#dlt" (an abbreviation for the Daltonlar gang), photos featuring motorcycles without license plates and firearms were identified.
