Following the arrest of CHP Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer on charges of "being a member of the PKK/KCK armed terrorist organization," a trustee was appointed to the Esenyurt Municipality.

Former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu evaluated Özer's arrest and the appointment of a trustee in his place.

CRITICISM OF NORMALIZATION: YOU BECOME INEFFECTIVE

"The prosecutor of this case is Erdoğan himself," said Kılıçdaroğlu, reacting to the 'normalization' process that began after the March 31 Local Elections, adding, "If you compromise with a one-man regime under the guise of 'normalization,' after a while you enter its gravitational field and become ineffective."

Speaking to Saygı Öztürk from Sözcü, Kılıçdaroğlu said the following:

"The prosecutor of this case is Erdoğan himself. In a 'one-man' regime, the legislature, judiciary, and executive exist in form, but in reality, there is only one person. Indeed, he was able to say clearly yesterday, 'There is much more to come.'

One person takes the place of the prosecutor and prepares the indictment. He says that more will follow the indictment he prepared. In that indictment, he can say, 'Look, there is much more to come.' This shows that the judiciary is not independent, the executive has completely collapsed, and the legislative body has become dysfunctional. It turns into a parliament that cannot protect its own members and has no power. Therefore, the main target in this one-man regime is Erdoğan. It is Erdoğan who must be fought. If you compromise with a one-man regime under the guise of 'normalization,' after a while you enter its gravitational field and become ineffective."
