Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ferdi Zeyrek, who was electrocuted while trying to check the pool motor at his home on June 6, passed away on June 9 at the hospital where he was receiving treatment.

Ferdi Zeyrek’s daughter, Nehir, has turned her father's dream of continuing his profession into reality. In a social media post following the funeral, Zeyrek’s 18-year-old daughter, Nehir Zeyrek, wrote: "I will strive harder every day to be a child worthy of you. Just as you wanted, I will take that exam next week and become an architect. I will keep your name alive in the best way possible wherever I can. I love you so much. You are my everything."

The university where Nehir Zeyrek, who took the exam 11 days after her father's death, was accepted has been announced. Following Zeyrek's passing, CHP leader Özgür Özel had accompanied the young woman on the day of the exam.

SHE WILL CONTINUE HER FATHER'S PROFESSION

In a statement on his social media account, Özgür Özel said, "The YKS results have been announced. Our Nehir, the daughter of my brother Ferdi who is entrusted to all of us, has received the necessary score to study architecture, her father's profession, which she desired so much. Congratulations to us all."

Within the scope of the YKS results announced today, Ferdi Zeyrek’s daughter, Nehir Zeyrek, was accepted into the Faculty of Architecture at Yeditepe University.
