HE EXPLAINED THAT HE HAD HIM SHOOT AT THE RANGE
The arrested father, Uğur Mersinli, stated in his testimony that he had taken his son to the police shooting range days before the incident. Mersinli said that he fired shots with his own weapon there and also had his son fire a few rounds.
In his statement, Mersinli said, "On Monday, I went to the police shooting range and fired shots with my own weapon; I also had my son fire a few rounds. I showed my son the target in front of us and told him that the weapon should not be used randomly and that shots should be fired by aiming at the target. I took a few photos and videos of my son while he was shooting; my intention was for them to remain as a memento and to dampen his enthusiasm. I later sent the photos to my son İsa via WhatsApp."
