Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan: "Israel is pursuing a massive revenge and retaliation"

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, who frequently holds contacts in the region, also made statements regarding the current agenda during the live broadcast he attended.

Minister Fidan said, "This crisis is different from the others. Israel is pursuing a massive revenge and retaliation here. The fact that they are not paying attention to civilians and are choosing the path of collective punishment should be a source of concern for humanity."

"The Palestinian issue is an important issue for us. It is a subject that has gone through various stages, and the latest crisis and tragedy that began on October 7 truly worries us.

There had been sieges of Gaza before, in 2009 and 2014. Israel had also carried out very serious operations against Gaza back then. At that time, I was part of the team assigned to mediation talks and other related issues, both during the period when our President was Prime Minister and later when he became President. Along with the history of the issue, I am one of its close witnesses.

The crisis on October 7 is a crisis that many relevant circles saw coming but chose to cover up. The Hamas attacks that began on October 7 actually became proof of the wrongness of the policy that Israel has been pursuing in the region, especially for the last 10 years.
