The statement described the attack on the flotilla as an act of terror that endangers the lives of innocent civilians.
The statement, titled "Regarding Israel's Intervention in the Global Sumud Flotilla," included the following remarks:
"The attack carried out by Israeli forces in international waters against the Global Sumud Flotilla, which set sail to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, is an act of terror that violates international law in the gravest manner and endangers the lives of innocent civilians.
This attack, which targets civilians acting for peaceful purposes without resorting to violence, is proof that the fascist and militarist policies implemented by the genocidal Netanyahu government, which condemns Gaza to famine, are not limited to Palestinians and target everyone who struggles against the oppression imposed by Israel.
We hope that this attack will not harm efforts aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.
Since the beginning of the journey, we have been acting in coordination with other countries whose citizens are among the participants in the flotilla. In this context, all necessary initiatives have been launched to ensure the immediate release of our citizens and other passengers detained by Israeli forces. Legal avenues will also be pursued to hold the perpetrators of the attack accountable.
We call on the UN and all relevant international organizations to take immediate action to lift the unlawful blockade on Gaza as soon as possible, to allow the entry of humanitarian aid into the region, and to guarantee freedom of navigation."
