Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Keçeli: Greece's spatial framework will not produce legal consequences

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Öncü Keçeli made a statement on his social media account regarding the Special Spatial Framework for Industry and Supply Chains announced by Greece today.

Pointing out that the framework in question also covers the Aegean Sea, Keçeli stated: "The Special Spatial Framework for Industry and Supply Chains, announced today (August 28) by Greece to include the Aegean Sea, will not produce any legal consequences for our country in the context of the interconnected Aegean issues between the two countries, including geographical formations whose sovereignty has not been ceded to Greece by international treaties." he said.

Stating that Turkey maintains its position that any approach must be consistent with the Athens Declaration on Friendly Relations and Good Neighborliness dated December 7, 2023, Keçeli emphasized that they are ready for cooperation with Greece.

Keçeli said, "As Turkey, we reiterate on this occasion that we maintain our position that an approach consistent with the Athens Declaration on Friendly Relations and Good Neighborliness of December 7, 2023, should be adopted, and that as one of the two littoral states of the Aegean Sea, we are always ready for cooperation with Greece."
