Russian social media influencer Tatiana Ozolina, who had set out on a world tour, lost her life in an accident in the Milas district of Muğla when two motorcycles traveling in the same direction collided. The report prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institute revealed that the victim was not at fault. The report also noted that the other driver, Onur Obut, was primarily at fault.
Onur Obut, whose treatment at the hospital was completed, was taken into custody by police teams. In his statement, Obut said, "I have known Tatiana Ozolina and Sergei Khardikov for a long time through social media. I invited them to tour Turkey. Our trip began in Istanbul.
When we entered the borders of the Milas district, I slowed down to wait for Sergei, who was behind us. At that moment, Tatiana, who was coming from behind, hit me and was thrown off her bike."
'TATIANA HIT ME AND WAS THROWN'
Obut, who was referred to the courthouse after his procedures at the police station, was released under judicial control. The report was prepared by the Forensic Medicine Institute based on security camera footage and witness statements.
The report stated that Ozolina had braked due to a truck that appeared in front of her while she was driving, and that Obut, who did not maintain a safe following distance, hit Ozolina's motorcycle from behind; therefore, Ozolina was not at fault in the accident, while Obut was primarily at fault.
Ali Şan, the lawyer for Tatiana Ozolina's family, stated that the camera located on Ozolina's motorcycle, which was allegedly recording at the time of the incident, went missing after the accident.
Stating that a driver who stopped for the accident said they gave the camera to the other driver, Obut, Ali Şan requested that anyone else who saw the camera come forward and give a statement to the prosecutor's office.
'THEY ARE SAD THAT THE SUSPECT HAS NOT CONTACTED THEM'
Lawyer Ali Şan stated that the investigation into the accident is being conducted very meticulously by the prosecutor's office and said, "We lost Tatiana Ozolina as a result of a tragic accident. We are only waiting for the report regarding the cause of death. All evidence in the file has been collected. However, the camera recording is missing. A citizen stated that after the accident occurred, they gave the camera found on Tatiana's motorcycle to the other driver because the gendarmerie was not there at the time. This driver, however, says that no camera was given to him."
Stating that they expect the indictment to be prepared shortly, Şan said, "In the accident report obtained by the prosecutor's office and the forensic medicine report, it is established that Tatiana was faultless and that the suspect is the one at fault. Many witnesses have already given their statements. If there is anyone who witnessed the accident, please apply to the prosecutor's office and give your statement. Tatiana Ozolina's family is sad that the suspect has not contacted them," he said.
