Forest fire in İzmir's Aliağa spreads to Foça

A forest fire that broke out in the Aliağa district of İzmir has spread to Foça due to the wind. The fire began near the Bozköy neighborhood of Aliağa and moved toward the Ilıpınar neighborhood of the Foça district.

Due to the fire, approximately 20 houses in the area were evacuated as a precaution. It was reported that two houses were damaged in the fire, and some animal shelters were also burned.

To combat the fire, 7 aircraft, 14 helicopters, 24 fire trucks, 16 water supply vehicles, water tankers, and 6 bulldozers, along with numerous teams from the İzmir Regional Directorate of Forestry, were dispatched to the scene.

A total of 450 personnel are participating in the efforts. Two of the four personnel affected by smoke during the firefighting operations were treated in an ambulance, while the other two were taken to the hospital.

İzmir Governor Süleyman Elban also made a statement regarding the fire, saying that an intensive intervention is being carried out both from the air and on the ground. Governor Elban stated that all institutions are working in cooperation and that they are making a great effort to bring the fire under control, and he conveyed his best wishes to the citizens affected by the fire.

Meanwhile, as the fire in İzmir continues, it has been announced that forest fires in Antalya, Karabük, and Muğla have been brought under control.
