Forest fire in Sakarya continues for hours
The forest fire that broke out yesterday afternoon in the Taraklı district of Sakarya could not be brought under control during the night.

A fire broke out for an unknown reason in a forested area in the Paşalar Konağı locality of Hacıyakup Neighborhood yesterday afternoon. Teams were mobilized to extinguish the fire, which spread rapidly due to the effect of the wind.
In the incident where all units were mobilized to bring the flames under control, a total of 100 citizens were evacuated from the Aydınlar and Çamlık neighborhoods as a precautionary measure by the Sakarya Governorship due to the fire approaching nearby residential areas.
The fire, which has been ongoing for hours, could not be brought under control at night either. The flames illuminated the darkness of the night. The fire zone was viewed from the air by drone.

On the other hand, in a statement made by the Sakarya Governorship, it was stated, "As of this hour, according to information received from the Health Disaster Coordination Center (SAKOM), there are no citizens affected by the fire. Our teams are on duty in the field, ready and having taken all kinds of measures against potential risks. Efforts are continuing uninterruptedly to bring the fire completely under control and to prevent potential new risks."
Meanwhile, as the fire could not be brought under control throughout the night, the teams in the region remain on high alert.
