Yerlikaya stated in a post on his social media account that the "Sibergöz-32" operations were carried out in Istanbul, Antalya, Diyarbakır, Burdur, Adana, Eskişehir, Osmaniye, and Siirt as a result of work conducted by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Cyber Crimes Branch under the coordination of the General Directorate of Security's Cyber Crimes Department.
Using the phrase, "We are on the heels of those who commit qualified fraud using information systems. We will never let them get away with it," Yerlikaya noted that it was determined the suspects introduced themselves as "investment consultants" to contact citizens, directed them to a fake website with promises of "Forex investment and high returns," displayed non-existent earnings on the site, and generated illicit income by demanding money under various pretexts to access these earnings.
Yerlikaya reported that a large amount of digital material was seized during the operations in which 19 suspects were apprehended. Minister Yerlikaya congratulated the police forces who carried out the operations.
