Another new claim from the former Chief Aide: 'Binali Yıldırım and Hulusi Akar were also going to be killed on July 15'

As the hearing of the case, which continues at the Sincan Prison Campus, began today in the Ankara 17th High Criminal Court, the following dialogue took place when the Presiding Judge warned Ali Yazıcı: “You must only present your defense regarding the accusation of attempted murder of the complainant İhsan Çağ.”

Yazıcı:“Don't get tense. I have been in prison for 10 years.”

Judge:“Don't talk back to me.”

Yazıcı:“I am a child of Anatolia, just like you, just like Zühtü Arslan.”

Judge:“Ali Yazıcı, start your defense. I don't understand what you are trying to do.”

Yazıcı:“I am not expecting acquittal, mercy, or pity. I also vehemently reject the prosecutor's request for acquittal. I will not get into private matters or below-the-belt attacks. I was at his side for 1 year and 1 month. There is nothing I don't know. I don't know İhsan Çağ, and he doesn't know me; I want to explain the Peace at Home Council.”

Judge:“It has been understood that you were not an administrator. You were sentenced for attempting to abolish the constitutional order. You were acquitted of all other charges. Let's continue with the specifics of İhsan Çağ.”

"WHO IS THE NARCISSIST?"

Following these exchanges, Ali Yazıcı began his defense by saying, “Listen first; let's solve what this July 15 really is together,” and summarized the following:

“My phone was destroyed, my WhatsApp messages disappeared. I was in all the groups at the Palace until 10:30 PM on the night of July 15. The things that were written, oh my. Then, when someone in the group said, ‘The Chief Aide is here,’ they kicked me out. I say this with all my sincerity; despite the 10 years of persecution, I am keeping so many secrets inside, but let me tell you a little bit. The country is gone. There is no persecution I haven't seen and no suffering I haven't endured in 10 years. I have moved past myself. Just know a little. While I was going for a 3-year assignment in Sofia, they called from Ankara and said, ‘We are bringing you to the Palace.’ They had researched me from Trabzon. Hey, I don't even meet the height requirement. I was going to enter the Supreme Military Council (YAŞ) a year later. They said, ‘We are taking you.’ The General Staff was annoyed by this. Later, Necdet Özel told me: ‘I tried very hard not to give you up, but I couldn't succeed. The issue isn't you, the traditions were broken,’ he said. I was earning 7 thousand Euros in Sofia. When they took me to his side early, I lost 4 thousand Euros. Now I don't have 4 cents. He embraced me as his fellow countryman. The Palace paid the hospital expenses for the birth of my daughter, whom he named. However, it was later said, ‘FETÖ members paid it.’ He will do the persecution he did to me to 86 million people. You will all see.”

The Presiding Judge reacted to these statements by saying, “Do not talk about people and institutions outside of this case anymore. We are waiting for you to come to the coup. We need to hear you regarding İhsan Çağ.”

When Ali Yazıcı replied, “Is it a favor for you to listen to me? If you force me, I will reach the Palace,” the Presiding Judge warned him, “Do not resort to threats or blackmail.”

After stating that he wanted the people he accused to file lawsuits against him so that he could tell everything then, Yazıcı noted that those who never left his side before July 15 told him, “Go for the holiday, see your family,” and that upon his return, he was not allowed to meet with Erdoğan, before moving on to the section of his PowerPoint presentation titled “I loved a narcissist.”

Upon this, the Presiding Judge asked who he was describing. Yazıcı stated he was describing himself and said, “This is Hitler, this is Pharaoh. And a little bit of me.” However, the Presiding Judge ordered the clerk to record this section into the system.

ZEKİ ÜÇOK AND MÜYESSER YILDIZ DEBATE

The following debate occurred when Ali Yazıcı said in the continuation of his defense, “They called me a terrorist. I neither took part in a coup nor an assassination attempt. Would a coup or assassination attempt I took part in be planned or result in this way? But they abandoned me to death. I am dead. Should I not talk about Ahmet Zeki Üçok, who has been making statements against me for days?”

Judge:“No. Do not talk about this or people outside the case.”

Yazıcı:“I joined the council after his speeches.”

Judge:“Our case is not about the stealing of questions.”

Yazıcı:“Not a single one of those who write and speak against me is here. Only Ms. Müyesser is here. She shouldn't write either. It comes back to me as torture.”

Judge:“I noticed that you don't even make a defense if Ms. Müyesser isn't here. You can ask her, ‘Don't write about me.’ She is watching here, of course she will write.”

Despite this, when Ali Yazıcı brought up certain allegations regarding Ahmet Zeki Üçok, the Presiding Judge had his warning recorded in the minutes, and Yazıcı's lawyer, Ayten İzmirli, joined the debate, saying, “File a criminal complaint, let him tell what he cannot tell. If the prosecutor has the courage, let him file a criminal complaint.”

The prosecutor replied, “Ms. Lawyer, this place is affiliated with the West Courthouse. I can only report it.”

CLAIM THAT "DAVUTOĞLU LEFT CRYING"

Following the debates, Ali Yazıcı, who reiterated his torture allegations and requested that his life safety be secured, spoke about former Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu as follows:

“He said that if the counter-terrorism book is opened, many people will not be able to show their faces in public. You are a statesman, say it so the country can get on track. These words of yours have a lot of substance. It was a Wednesday, I took his arm and wiped his tears when he left the room crying. He couldn't stand on his feet. He said, ‘I resigned of my own will.’ If they have the guts, let those who aspire to govern the state after the Chief (Reis) ask, ‘What are you saying, Davutoğlu?’”

"LET HULUSİ AKAR TELL A CRUMB OF THE TRUTH"

In the afternoon session of the hearing, Ali Yazıcı explained that he worked with four aides at the Presidency, that he was the Chief Aide, that the Gendarmerie aide chosen by the then-Minister of Interior was not arrested, while the Army, Air Force, and Navy aides were arrested, and that he testified about them and they were released, and said the following:

“I saved the Chief (Reis) from assassination at least 20 times, but I am being tried for assassination. FETÖ exists, but they are not in prison, I can prove it. I have never killed or wounded anyone except terrorists. Including İhsan Çağ. They gave the President wrong information and documents, which is why I was detained 17 hours after July 15. There are so many groups in the Palace that if something happens to him, we will fall apart. Everyone must protect him.”

Stating that 10 years have passed since July 15, but not a single speck of dust on him has been cleared, Yazıcı asked the questions, “Do the TSK (Turkish Armed Forces) and authorized administrators have no responsibility? Were all the soldiers arrested, from privates to generals, guilty? How, by whom, and when was this situation decided?” and then made the following claims:

“Binali Yıldırım and Hulusi Akar were also going to be killed that night. Hulusi Akar should pray for Mehmet Dişli. I still respect Hulusi Akar. But the fact that Mehmet Dişli is inside is his inconsistency. Hulusi Akar used to call me every week. But he doesn't call me on July 15, he calls the President's head of security. I could have brought him face to face with the Chief, but I didn't. Let him come out and talk about Dişli and the innocent people here. I heard he is still chasing a ministry. I expect him to tell at least a crumb of the truth.”

When Yazıcı began to describe the characteristics of Caligula and Hitler in the final part of his defense today, the Presiding Judge asked about their relevance to the case. While Yazıcı replied, “We should not remain silent about the oppression and genocide in Gaza,” he added, “I saw, I witnessed, I heard. Is there any major sin left that those you fed at your side by giving them positions and ranks have not committed?”
