Former CHP deputy passes away

Gürkut Acar, 76, a former 24th Term Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy for Antalya and former President of the Antalya Bar Association, has passed away at his home in Yeşilbayır.

Following Acar's death, CHP Antalya Provincial Chair Nail Kamacı stated on his social media account, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our former Bar Association President, former CHP Provincial Chair, and 24th Term Antalya Deputy, Mr. Gürkut Acar, who left a mark with his commitment to Republican values, his struggle for the rule of law, and his life dedicated to society. We will always remember him with respect, love, and gratitude. I extend my condolences to his family, all his loved ones, the legal community, and our Republican People's Party family."

CEREMONY TO BE HELD

Muratpaşa Mayor Ümit Uysal said in his post, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our 24th Term Antalya Deputy, former Bar Association President, and former CHP Provincial Chair, Mr. Gürkut Acar, who left a deep mark with his struggle for the rule of law and his life dedicated to society. Gürkut, my elder brother, was an example to us all with his principled stance in both his professional and political life. We will always remember him with respect, love, and gratitude."

Antalya Bar Association President Ali Çadaş Bozaner also shared a message on his social media account, stating, "We are deeply saddened by the loss of our esteemed colleague, lawyer Gürkut Acar, who served as the President of the Antalya Bar Association between 2000 and 2002."

A ceremony will be held for Gürkut Acar today at 15:30 in front of the CHP Antalya Provincial Headquarters, where he was a member and served as a deputy, and at 16:00 at the Antalya Bar Association, where he served as president between 2000 and 2002.
