Former HDP MP Hüda Kaya released

Former HDP Istanbul MP Hüda Kaya was detained at Istanbul Airport in November 2023 based on an "arrest warrant" issued against her as part of the investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the Kobani protests held on October 6-8, 2014.

After undergoing a medical check, Kaya was brought to the courthouse and was arrested by the on-duty Ankara Criminal Court of Peace, to which she had been referred with a request for her arrest following her interrogation.

In the case heard at the Ankara 22nd High Criminal Court, Hüda Kaya, who presented her defense, was released by the court panel under judicial control conditions.
