Statement on 'cabinet' from former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu: Is he returning?
Former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has responded to claims regarding whether he will be brought back into the cabinet or appointed to a high-level position following the AKP's local election defeat.

Following the elections, there were public claims that former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu would become a minister in the cabinet again or be appointed to a high-level position. Soylu responded to those claims.
"OUR PARTY IS MAKING ITS ASSESSMENTS"
Speaking to Can Bursalı at Sözcü, Süleyman Soylu stated that he visited President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan after the local elections.
Regarding the question about the claims that he met with Erdoğan after the local elections to make a presentation and that he would start a duty in an important position in the near future, even if not in the cabinet, Soylu said, "Other than the courtesy visit we made after returning from Umrah, these reports are unfortunately not true."
Soylu explained why he said "unfortunately" with these words:
"I said it for you. Saying 'unfortunately' for the meeting would be disrespectful toward the President."
To journalist Bursalı's question, "Are the reports about the content of the meeting not true, or are you denying the claim that you will start an active duty?" Soylu responded as follows:
"Our party is making its assessments with all its boards. We also expressed our opinion to contribute regarding the election. That is all. Our President was not at this meeting."
