Arguing that the law has become a tool of political pressure following the successive developments, Saraç stated, “Arrests made even when detention is not required… Even if people often cannot voice their reactions, everyone is aware that the law is being used as a stick by the government.”

Atty. Filiz Saraç also stated that she would file a criminal complaint under Article 271 of the Turkish Penal Code, which regulates the crime of fabricating a crime.

Saraç's post was interpreted as a reaction specifically to the detention of TÜSİAD executives.

As is known, an investigation was launched into TÜSİAD President Orhan Turan and High Advisory Council President Ömer Arif Aras, and the two senior executives were taken to the courthouse under police escort.
