In İzmir, former İzmir Bar Association President Attorney Özkan Yücel has been detained after participating in protest demonstrations that began following the arrest of Ekrem İmamoğlu and several other mayors.
It was learned that Yücel, who was detained during a police operation at his home in the morning, was taken to the İzmir Courthouse for questioning.
İzmir Bar Association President Attorney Sefa Yılmaz stated the following in a post on the social media platform X: "A detention order has been issued for our Bar Association President for the 2018-2022 term, Attorney Özkan Yücel. I invite all our colleagues to the İzmir Courthouse for solidarity" he said.
