Former Kıyıköy Mayor Ender Sevinç arrested
The trial of Ender Sevinç, who was removed from his post as Mayor of Kıyıköy in Kırklareli by the Ministry of Interior due to allegations of "bribery and irregularities," has concluded regarding charges of "sexual harassment" and "sexual assault."

The defendant, Ender Sevinç, who was being tried without arrest, did not attend the hearing at the Vize Criminal Court of First Instance.
The hearing, attended by complainants B.Ç., M.I., M.K., and D.S., as well as the defendant's lawyer, began with the lawyers presenting their defense against the opinion on the merits previously submitted by the public prosecutor at the last session.
When asked for their final words, the complainants stated that their previous statements remained valid.
Following a recess after the defense lawyer's arguments, the court panel announced its verdict, sentencing defendant Sevinç to 5 years, 7 months, and 15 days in prison for the crimes of "sexual harassment" and "sexual assault."
It was learned that Sevinç was arrested following the verdict.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
In 2021, 4 complainants filed a criminal complaint with the Vize Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the Mayor of Kıyıköy, alleging "sexual harassment" and "sexual assault."
The Vize Chief Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation into Sevinç, and the indictment prepared in 2022 was accepted by the Vize Criminal Court of First Instance.
In the indictment, a prison sentence of 9 to 34 years was requested for Sevinç for the crimes of "sexual assault" and "sexual harassment."
Ender Sevinç had previously been sentenced to 5 years, 6 months, and 20 days in prison for "accepting bribes" by the Kırklareli 2nd High Criminal Court on September 22, 2023, in a separate trial regarding allegations of "bribery and irregularities."
