Former Olympic athlete and national volleyball player Yıldıray Pağda has passed away.

In a statement made by the Turkish Volleyball Federation,

The Turkish sports community received the news of the passing of former Olympic athlete and national volleyball player Yıldıray Pağda with deep sorrow. In the statement made by the Turkish Volleyball Federation, it was noted, "We have learned with sadness of the passing of our former national volleyball player Yıldıray Pağda. The funeral of the deceased will be laid to rest at the Ankara Karşıyaka Cemetery following the funeral prayer to be held tomorrow at noon. We wish God's mercy upon the deceased and offer our condolences to his grieving family, loved ones, and our community."

Born in Adana in 1938, Yıldıray Pağda began his volleyball career at Karataş Sports Club and delivered successful performances throughout his career at prominent clubs such as Darüşşafaka, Galatasaray, and DSİ. At the same time, he was a member of the national athletics team between 1960-1965 and represented Turkey at the Rome Olympics in the high jump and triple jump disciplines.
