Former UK Prince Andrew in custody

It has been reported that former Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been taken into custody as part of an investigation launched into allegations of misconduct in public office in the United Kingdom. According to information reported by the BBC, the suspect, who is in his 60s, was taken into custody today (February 19) in Norfolk.

SEARCHES CONTINUE IN BERKSHIRE AND NORFOLK

In a statement issued by the police, it was stated that search operations are ongoing at certain addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. It was noted that the individual taken into custody is currently being held under police supervision.

According to information provided by authorities to BBC reporters, not only are the allegations of misconduct in public office against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor being examined, but also claims that a second woman was sent to the United Kingdom by Jeffrey Epstein and that a sexual encounter was arranged.

INTEGRITY OF THE INVESTIGATION MUST BE MAINTAINED

Authorities emphasized that, in line with national guidance, the name of the person taken into custody will not be officially released. Furthermore, it was stated that the investigation is now an active process, and a call was made to be cautious regarding the risk of contempt of court in any reporting.

The following statement was issued by the Thames Valley Police:

“As part of an ongoing investigation, today (19/2), a man in his 60s from Norfolk has been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office, and searches are being conducted at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk.

The individual in question is currently being held in police custody.

In line with national guidance, we will not be releasing the name of the person arrested. We also remind you that this case is now active and emphasize the need for caution in any reporting to avoid contempt of court.”

Deputy Chief Constable Oliver Wright made the following statement:

“Following a comprehensive assessment, we have launched an investigation into an allegation of misconduct in public office.

While investigating this alleged crime, it is important that we maintain the integrity and impartiality of the investigation.

POLICE ACTIVITY IN SANDRINGHAM

It was reported that police vehicles, believed to be unmarked, were seen in the morning hours in the Sandringham area of Norfolk, where Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been living since leaving his residence in Windsor.

No official statement has been made regarding which police unit carried out the detention or exactly where the operation took place.

FIRST TIME TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

This development marks the first time the former prince, who has previously been in the spotlight over various allegations due to his connections with Jeffrey Epstein, has been taken into custody.
