Fraudsters caught after booking another appointment

In Çatalca, Istanbul, a woman put her land up for sale. She met with 3 people at the land registry office, with whom she had agreed on a price of 9 million. After paying a 110 thousand TL deposit, the suspects took ownership of the land and fled without paying the remainder of the money. The 3 suspects, who returned to the land registry office the next day for another transaction, were detained by teams from the Çatalca District Police Department's Public Security Bureau. Following their interrogation, the 3 suspects were referred to the courthouse and released.

In Çatalca, a woman identified as F.Ç. put her land up for sale. She reached an agreement for 9 million TL with individuals who contacted her shortly after. The suspects transferred a 110 thousand TL deposit to F.Ç.'s account.

THEY TOOK OWNERSHIP AND FLED WITHOUT PAYING

The women identified as H.Ö.T., M.A., and C.B., who met with F.Ç. at the land registry office, fled without paying the remaining balance after completing the land transfer process.

THEY WERE CAUGHT UPON RETURNING TO THE LAND REGISTRY OFFICE

After F.Ç. applied to the Çatalca District Police Department stating that she had been defrauded, teams from the Public Security Bureau began reviewing security camera footage from the land registry office. During this time, land registry officials informed the police that the suspects had booked another appointment.

Lying in wait at the land registry office, the Çatalca Public Security Bureau teams caught H.Ö.T., M.A., and C.B. red-handed and detained them when they returned to the office for another transaction.

The individuals named C.B. and M.A., who were referred to the courthouse on charges of 'Qualified Fraud', were released after their statements were taken by the prosecutor's office.

The individual named H.Ö.T., who was referred to the court, was released under judicial control measures.
