Free medication to be distributed against breast cancer in England
Anastrozole will be offered to post-menopausal women with a family history of breast cancer

In England, approximately 300,000 women at high risk of developing breast cancer will be offered a medication that could halve their risk in the fight against the disease.
The NHS has announced that, as of today, women living in England can receive the tablet to prevent the development of breast cancer.
The drug, called Anastrozole, is being offered to women who are at greater risk due to having gone through menopause and having a significant family history of this type of cancer.
In the United Kingdom, approximately 56,000 women—or about 150 women per day—are diagnosed with breast cancer each year. Although survival rates are higher compared to other types of cancer, it is claimed that approximately 11,500 women still lose their lives to the disease annually.
