President Erdoğan had announced the good news that a discount would be applied to natural gas bills following the commissioning of Black Sea natural gas. Meanwhile, Minister Alparslan Bayraktar, who made a presentation at the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee where the 2024 budget of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources was discussed, made a statement regarding free natural gas and electricity.

DECISION EXTENDED FOR ANOTHER YEAR

While consumption of up to 25 cubic meters in incoming natural gas bills is free, 25 cubic meters of gas, worth approximately 120 liras, will be free across all of Turkey until May 1, 2024.

Since 2023, the 25-cubic-meter portion of natural gas bills has been covered by the state. If the usage amount remains below this, citizens do not pay any fees.
