Frightening warning from Ahmet Ercan for 11 provinces after Malatya earthquakes! 'For 3 years...'
Following the 5.2 and 4.7 magnitude earthquakes in Malatya, earthquake expert Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercan made a statement. Stating that aftershocks reaching up to 6.3 in magnitude could occur in the 11 provinces affected by the Kahramanmaraş earthquakes and that these aftershocks would continue for 2-3 years, Ercan warned, "Structures that have experienced earthquakes are fatigued. Steel structures should be built."

Earthquakes with magnitudes of 5.2 and 4.7 occurred 3 minutes apart, with the epicenter in the Battalgazi district of Malatya. About an hour later, Adıyaman was shaken by a 3.5 magnitude tremor.
AFTERSHOCKS WILL LAST FOR 2 TO 3 YEARS
Geophysicist Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercan made a statement following the tremors. Warning the 11 provinces affected by the 7.7 and 7.6 magnitude Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, Ercan pointed out that aftershocks, which could reach up to 6.3 in magnitude, will last for 2 to 3 years.
"STRUCTURES THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED EARTHQUAKES ARE FATIGUED"
Ercan stated the following:
"There was a M5.3 earthquake at 17:46 at a depth of 7 km in Sincik, Adıyaman, followed by a M4.7 aftershock. These are aftershocks of the earthquake that broke four faults and released a total tension of M8.0. Aftershocks in the 11 provinces will continue for 2 to 3 years, reaching up to M6.3. Structures that have experienced earthquakes are fatigued. Steel structures should be built."
